about the space
Located near Mystic, every room has a view of the water and the many passing boats, including an occasional 19th Century Tall Ship out of Mystic or New London! Settle into one of the elegant and uniquely furnished rooms, with antiques and custom-made furniture from around the world; built in 1899, and renovated in 2022, you will find a house like no other: beautiful and historic, but as inviting as a home should be. At 5300 sq. ft, you'll find plenty of room to spread out with seven spacious bedrooms, each complete with memory foam, 100% natural linens, and blackout shades on all windows. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and we are lucky to enjoy coastal breezes throughout the house. One guest said, “it feels like I’m on a ship!” with all the sea breezes flowing through. With four and a half bathrooms, and complimentary bath amenities, you'll find all the comforts of home and more.
Discover four distinct dining areas, including a formal dining room for 12, a sunny captain’s table in the turret, a kitchen table plus counter stools, and an outdoor teak table on the deck; there's plenty of space to gather for meals. Also enjoy the outdoor grill right off the kitchen. The fully equipped kitchen features high-end appliances, and an extensive array of spices, condiments and cooking staples.
Kick back in front of the massive fireplace with ample firewood in the living room for karaoke, movie or game night on chilly evenings, or sip cocktails on the 3 outdoor porches - perfect for backyard BBQs and lawn games - croquet, bocce, corn hole, badminton - during the warmer months, all while watching the many boats go by. Maybe even spot a submarine!
For those looking for a quiet environment for work, the Hummingbird House also offers several dedicated office spaces within the guest bedrooms, access to a printer, and reliable high-speed 100mbps wifi.
You can rest easy knowing you're in a safe and welcoming environment, as the house is cleaned with natural cleaning products, and offers healthy and delicious breakfast foods for every group. All your needs will be met!

My family and I had a fantastic time at the Hummingbird House, right next to the water. The house has fantastic historic charm and was immaculate, with just the right modern touches to accommodate our needs. We enjoyed great water views and sunsets from the wraparound porch as well as family meals in the various well-suited dining areas.
